Samba is a celebratory social dance
that's most known from Rio de Janeiro's annual Carnival season.
(When you think of samba, you can't help but think of sequins,
feathers, beaded bikinis, and sexy moves.) This class focuses on
movement from the region as well as Bahia and incorporates the pole
for a class that promotes the release of inhibitions and is more fun
than "work." It's high energy and is certain to be a great addition
to any fitness regimen and includes pilates exercises in the
warm-up, resulting in a total body workout. You'll loosen up and
strengthen the arms, back, and torso and learn how to make wide
circles with the hips and chest, as well as shake your booty! Please
note: This is more of a dance class, than a pole class. Although you
will be learning how to climb and swing on the pole, it will be used
more to accentuate the dance. The class will also be taught at a
slow pace so there's no intimidation.
