Joannie (Pole Dance) is a native New Yorker who lives, eats and breathes NYC. She has a flair for the dramatic and is someone who lives her life with no regrets. Dancing has been a passion of hers since she could remember. From the early stages of her life, Joannie knew dancing would be an important part of her.
In 2009, Joannie took her first pole dance class on a whim and instantly became enthralled. With her new found passion, she was able to express her artistic side while being able to incorporate her lifelong passion of dance. She started performing at different venues all around NYC, and her reputation as a performer culminated in her earning a showcase performance for Adam Sands "Pole Control", "Poletential Air Show" in San Francisco, and pole performed for the bands, Deadbeat Darlings and Xylos. She was later cast as a featured pole dancer on a comedy web series appropriately named "Saved by the Pole". On set she taught fellow cast members how to "work the pole".
Along her journey, Joannie realized that her nurturing personality combined with her unbridled enthusiasm for dance would make her an ideal instructor. Her classes are ideal for newcomers due to her strong emphasis on proper form and balance at all times. But above all, her students enjoy her classes because they are lighthearted and fun. People can be themselves and be any type of dancer they want to be. And in the end, they walk away with a new found confidence and swagger that makes them a stronger, happier individual. So be ready to be captivated, challenged and at times a little silly....
