kari
Southern California native Kari has trained in all dance forms since the age of five and is more than delighted to bring her enthusiasm for dance to the fitness world, especially to New York City!
Kari grew up dancing at the award winning Dansations Studio where she trained and competed in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip-Hop and Pom. After graduating from high school she continued her studies as a Dance major with Erin Landry at Cypress College in California. She studied Modern and Afro-Caribbean Dance, training in techniques such as Martha Graham, Katherine Dunham and Lester Horton. In 2007 Cypress College was chosen as one of the top ten colleges to perform at the ACDFA Gala Festival in San Francisco.
Kari started to choreograph and instruct classes in Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Hip-Hop for all levels and ages at studios in Southern California. In 2009 she decided to pursue her love for acting and made her way to New York City to continue her education. Kari graduated from Hunter College with her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre.
She was still passionate about dance and fitness so she became a certified Zumba Fitness Instructor in 2010. She currently teaches at Shockra Studio and has collaborated with other organizations such as New York University, Dance For Change and The Legacy Center. Come join her class today and see the amazing fun and results you can see through dance fitness and Zumba!
